truth in love

When communicating in person, one of the things that I have always struggled with is the _love_ part of _speaking the truth in love_.

>Accordingly, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do what is required, yet for love’s sake I prefer to appeal to you—I, Paul, an old man and now a prisoner also for Christ Jesus— I appeal to you for my child, Onesimus, whose father I became in my imprisonment. – Philemon 8-10

As I go through my [reading plan for 2019/2020](https://danalcantara.me/2018/12/28/reading-through-the.html), this passage has stuck with me. It kind of feels like the first time I’ve been able to see **how** to speak the truth in love.
